Catch Up Premium
Coronavirus (COVID-19) catch-up premium
The government have allocated all schools a sum of money to use as catch-up funding post Covid 19 lockdown. The amount is equal to £80 per pupil.
Chandlers Field Primary School has been allocated the sum of £25,840
This money has been used towards the salary of a full time HLTA. The HLTA is being used strategically to release the class teachers to work with identified groups of children in the morning and in the afternoon the HLTA is taking small groups of children.
The progress of all children is regularly assessed, and the teachers use this information to decide on next steps in learning. With the catch up learning, the same methodology is used to ensure the targeting and interventions are at their most effective. The staff work as a team to ensure children's needs are met.
The use of the HLTA remains fluid in order to ensure the most effective catch-up provision.
Alongside the government funding the school has additional staff who are being used to support those children or classes with the greatest need.
